Every year, before the year’s end I like to read over my agenda and do a “year’s review” of all the activities I did during that year. 2011 was no different. On December 30th I sat down on my own with nice music and a nice cup of fresh coffee and I went month by month, day by day, over the activities I had during the year.

This is a really cool thing to do, to “re-live” those amazing activities you had during the year, and also to refresh your memory over the amazing people you came across during the entire year.

I love acknowledging people so a few years ago I came up with the idea of doing a “My Favorite people of the Year” Blog post, where I acknowledge some of the great people I came across during the year.

Truth is of course I met a lot more people during the year but it will be hard to mention each and every individual, so what I like doing is selecting the people who brought me the most fond memories during the year.

So, if you crossed my path in 2011, and you’re not in this list, allow me to also thank you for being there and making 2011 very special.

I will like to dedicate this post to my uncle Rodolfo Aldapa, who was one of my beloved relatives who sadly passed away the day before I wrote this post. He of course had a spot on my favorite people of 2011 as he did on my post of My favorite pople on previous years. I will sure miss him a lot.

(Mind you, these people are not set on any particular order, I just happen to remember enjoyable activities we did together at some point while reading my agenda

Of course, I would like to get started with my family! My Wife Gerjola, My Son Vincent and my Daughter Nina. I am so blessed that they are in my life. Nina, Coco & Patatita I love you with all my heart you’re my everything

Then I would like to Acknowledge my Parents: I wish I will live a bit closer to them, as I do not get to see them as much as I want to. Fortunately we Skype almost every day. Winacho and La Piguas I love you with all my heart!

Then comes my Brother and Sister.

Sad enough, I did not see my sister in 2011, but we did keep in touch as often as possible via phone or Skype, also my Brother left to Chicago and I do miss him dearly. Guys you’re amazing and I love you very Much

Next person on my favorite list is my really dear friend Dave Crane.

During my life I’ve had lots of “best friends”, but I must say Dave is on a league of his own. I really feel a very strong bond with him and I absolutely treasure all the times we spend together. We have fun, we have serious conversations, we brainstorm and we counsel each other in many aspects of our lives. Dave you’re an amazing guy and I feel blessed we’re such good mates!

Next on my list are: Barry, Cummings, James Reynolds and Christian Farioli. I had to put the three of them on one single spot as they are all very close pals and I really feel so proud of calling them close friends and business partners.

Guys I was so proud of you this year after the UPO in Al Ain, for the first time we worked as a team and we made this year’s event extra special. You guys rock!

Barry, it was awesome to have you here in USA for a few days in 2011, Lets Make 2012 an extraordinary year!

James, thanks for coming and staying in Amsterdam for a few Days in 2011, we had a great time and our brainstorm sessions gave birth to the 2011 UPO in Al Ain, that probably will change the way Internet Marketing Events are done around the world! I Feel proud to have you as my business partner and friend.

Christian, first of all congratulations for your 66,000 views of the “Retarded Sheep” in YouTube

Second, I also want to tell you how much I value your friendship and support. You’re a super clever person and you’re insights are always invaluable. in 2012, I hope we can really dedicate time to the projects we have pending. Thanks for your patience and always being there for me. Un gran abrazo Amigo!

Mitch Carson is the next on my list

Mitch is another person whom I surely feel a strong bond and connection, Amigo Mitch (El Gringo de Los Angeles). We had a lot of fun experiences in 2011 and it was always a pleasure smoking either Shisha or Cigars and having enlightening conversations. You’re a very good pal and I feel really happy having you as a friend!

Sue Reader is the next person on my list.

Sue you’re amazing, thanks for accepting the big challenge and responsibility of making the 2011 UPO happen. Your help and contribution was key to the success of the event. I hope in 2012 we can work closely together. You’re amazing!

Joanna Kinsman comes next on my list

Joanna, you sure are a special lady, I am really glad Dave You and I had the chance to spend some time together after the cruise in Florida. It was short but very enjoyable! Look forward to more fun times in 2012.

Then of course I have to mention my good friend Andrew Lock, with whom I had the chance to work closely this year on 3 different occasions. In Park City, Las vegas and the UAE. Andrew, you’re good pal and I really value your friendship. I look forward to being part of your mastermind and YES I will Beat You Next Time we Play: ” The Battle of the Nifty Resources” lol!

Marie O’riordan follows on my List.

Marie, it was a pleasure to see you in London this summer and I am so happy that by random circumstances we connected again and you were available to speak on the 2011 UPO in Abu Dhabi (Al Ain). I look forward to working together this year on the 3 projects planned

Suraj Sodha

Suraj, what a great pleasure to get to know you this time. Last year we hardly had a chance to connect. I am really happy that we connected. You’re a great guy and it was very valuable your contribution in the UPO, not only speaking but keeping the firewalk safe Thanks Mate!

Next Peron on my list is Chris Farrell,

What an amazing person! Funny enough we met in Facebook, we both were traveling the next day to Salt Lake City and without knowing me, he waited for me in the Airport and we drove together to Park City. We had great conversations and surely is a person I am happy I met in 2011. Chris we missed you in Dubai this year but I am sure we will catch up in 2012 during the Mastermind Sessions. Look forward to spending more time together in 2012.

Then comes one of my oldest friends: Ihab Sorial

Ihab what a great pleasure was to reconnect twice with you this year. Thanks for always keeping me in mind. It was a pleasure working with you in Tunesia and then spending some time with you in Doha. I look forward in more opportunities like this in 2012. BIG Hug.

Andy Shaw, is a person that had to be on this list:

Great that we met 3 times this year! During the Cruise, London and afterwards in Dubai and Al Ain. I always have a great time when you’re around mate. It is always a pleasure to see you. Look forward to lots of Piñas Coladas during 2012!

Can you believe this is a bunch of “Stowaways” that landed “sneakingly” by fisherman’s boat in the Dominican Republic? This was for sure an adventure I really enjoyed and had a lot of fun on. Great Thing we’re going this year mainly to Spanish Speaking Destinations, so look forward to get in more trouble this year with all of you guys!

Simon Coulson

Simon, we missed you this year in Dubai! We also had a share of fun experiences in the Caribbean last January. Look forward to more fun in Mexico and Costa Rica in a few weeks. BTW Thanks for your invitation to the event in London in June. I really enjoyed it!

I feel absolutely blessed by having amazing friends literally all over the world. At the end of every year I like to count my blessings and besides the obvious: Health, a beautiful family, living comfortably, being successful in my career, I always think of the beautiful people who throughout the year have touched me in one way or another.

Some, have done on a book, a movie, a song and although I have not met these people they have helped me grow in one way or another as a human being and for that I am incredibly grateful. Some have briefly entered my life and I feel delighted that their path crossed mine as they have in a brief moment provided me with a small or big life lesson.

Some have seriously enhanced my life in one or more ways…

On this last post of 2010, I want to acknowledge each and every one of the persons that were part of my life during 2010. Of course it will be impossible to add the picture of each and every one of these amazing people.

So, to make sure I acknowledge each one of you… I would like to say the following: If we met or spend time together in 2010 I would like to THANK YOU for crossing my path!

There are so many names and faces that come to mind that it is hard to remember you all at this very moment but never the less THANK YOU!

Raymond you’re amazing!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 34 Leonora Pacini Leonora is an amazing lady and our “Secret Weapon” when doing Event Production. Always ‘behind the scenes’ but she always make me (us) shine. Thanks Lee for being ‘behind the scenes’ you’re amazing

Muneer is a guy that has a quality I really admire: He can really be the soul of a party! He’s very funny and can easily make you laugh and I am happy and glad I got to meet him this year in Bahrain and Dubai.

Stan is a great guy. I had the chance to spend some time with him in 2010 in Amsterdam, San Diego (Twice) and Las Vegas and Dubai and he is always great fun to be with. Plus he’s a very well connected guy and I feel proud of having him as a friend and as a business contact.

This year was a journey of discovery and it was very rewarding for us to see how many people participated in all our events in 2010. You guys are amazing!

My Favorite People of 2010 # 30 Mike Koenigs I met mike in 2008 in Frank Kern’s Mass Control event in San Diego, I invited him to Dubai to speak in the first ever Unlimited Power Online event and he agreed. In Dubai we had a great time. I remember having amazing conversations over Sheesha and drinks. This Year I met Mike again in San Diego and then in Washington DC and I Invited him to come again to Dubai. He could not make it but we made a recording on his Digital Cafe Studio to present in our events. I was honoured to be there in the same studio where he has interviewed big guys like Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy, Harvey Mackey and many others. Thanks Mike you’re a super cool guy!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 26 Vishen Lakhiani I met Vishen in Washington DC in March 2010 while I was wiring him to speak in Yanik Silver’s Underground event. I was really impressed of what this guy was doing so I Invited him to speak in Dubai. There he became one of the 2010 UPO best speakers.In early December I went to his Awesomeness fest in Costa Rica and I feel our relationship has gone stronger and we will sure collaborate in various projects in the furture. Vishen you’re an inspiration! Thanks.

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 25 Rosalind Gardner Ros is an extraordinary lady an amazing marketer and a fun loving person. Her ‘down to earth’ attitude is remarkable and her ‘fun to be around’ personality is a joy. (On top she loves airplanes and flying as me) Ros it was amazing having you in Dubai. I look forward to other events an occasions to ‘hang out’ with you! You’re a very special lady

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 24 Andrew Lock My dear friend Andrew Lock is someone I really enjoy spending time with. This year unfortunately, we only saw each other once while working together on the Production of Yanik Silver’s Underground event. (The picture above is on the set of  UG6) He’s a brilliant marketer a really witty guy and every time we see each other we always have a good time! Andrew You’re “DA MAN”

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 23 Dean Hunt Dean is a person I love to hang out with. He’s a guy you can have a lot of fun but also have serious conversations with. An outstanding marketer and a great and dear friend. It is actually quite funny but he’s the 2nd person I have the most pictures with on my Facebook photo album! We share a total of 75 Pictures! (On the Picture Below we are inside a Hummer Limo on our way to The Palm Jumeirah to Celebrate in Style in Sanctuary a really cool night club) That’s just evidence of the great times we’ve shared together! Salud amigo!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 22 My Father in Law: Gerrit Voortman. Gerrit is an amazing guy. I admire from him his zest and desire from squeezing every tiny bit of juice out of life. He’s over 60 but in his spirit he’s in his 20′s that is remarkable. Also it is always a joy to see how much he enjoys to travel. As a traveler myself , I love finding people who enjoy traveling so much as he does!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 21 Lisa Nichols. I was really fortunate to meet this amazing lady this year! All I can say is WOW! Lisa radiates positive energy like nobody I’ve ever met before. I met Lisa and her business partner Susie in Costa Rica on Vishen Lakhiani’s Awesomeness fest. It is just amazing the good vibe I felt for her, we danced had lunch dinner drinks great chats and now I am also very proud to say we are working to bring her to Dubai and India in 2011. She’s also one of the most moving and powerful speakers I’ve ever heard.

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 20 Yamil Lopez. Yamil is a good friend of mine who despite our differences, I appreciate how caring and supportive he is of me. Yamil is always there when I need him and is genuinely an amazing guy.  This year I saw him not too often but when we met we had a great time. I really appreciate when he showed up with me and my dad for my Dutch Nationalization Ceremonmy. Gracias Amigo espero cultivar la amistad mas en el 2011.

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 19 Simon Leung I am so happy that I met Simon Leung in February 2010 in Las Vegas on Mike Filsaime’s event. At first I thought he was a very quiet and distant person, but when you get to know him he’s a lot of fun! Besides he’s a powerful speaker. There are few people that I’ve really say: “Hats off” on the platform and Simon is surely one of them! Simon is joining us again in Dubai in 2011 for an amazing Google Insider’s Seminar.

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 18 Perry Marshall Perry is a guy I have been following for a number of years. I am a big fan of his work and of his marketing style, I’ve been wanting to meet him for a long time and finally I got to meet him in Austin. It was great, I stared having a conversation with him and after a little bit he said, why don’t we grab lunch together? During lunch we had a really nice conversation and I am delighted to share that he will be coming to Dubai in 2011. Perry, I am very happy that finally I had a chance to meet you this year!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 17 Ram Ganglani I like calling Mr. Ram “The Zen Master”. He’s really an amazing person. I admire how centered and cool he remains at all times. I feel very proud of having you as a business partner Mr. Ram you’re one of a kind!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 16 Bob Urichuck Bob for me has been a very important person not only in 2010 but for at least 3 to 4 years. Bob was literally the one that ‘showed me the ropes’ on many aspects on my Middle East speaking career. He is one of the nicest people I know and an amazing person to bounce Ideas with. Bob I truly value your friendship!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 15 Rosalind Twyford I met Rose in one of my ‘Automatic Cashflow Workshops, she was fast to see that joining my coaching program will be very beneficial for her and she has rapidly become one of my best students and in 2011 will be one of our coaches in the Internet Marketing Iceberg Coaching program. Rose you’re a helluva cool lady! BTW We need a picture together

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 14 Barry Cummings Barry was one of my first coaching students. This year he spoke in our Get out out of the Rat Race events in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain and also became one of the founding partners of the Web Reactivators. Our Online Consulting Firm. in 2011 he’ll be also be the senior coach for new students on the IMI coachinmg program. He’s a real professional and a person I really enjoy spending time with!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 13 James Reynolds James became my first success story in the Middle East as one of my IMI coaching students. Last year he set a goal to be one of the Speakers in our 2010 UPO and he did it! Now he’s the CEO of the Web Reactivators. James is a really clever guy and also he’s great fun to be around and I feel proud to be business partners

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 12 Elin Kilicarslan I am so happy I met Elin this year in April. She joined my IMI Coaching program and within a few months she joined my team as a Business Developing Manager. I feel so proud that she is on our team and I just have to be thankful that she was open to join our chaotic team. Elin you’re amazing and I look forward to growing the business together!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 11 Rick Itzkowich Rick is a guy I met via B.J. Shah. I actually first Interviewed him as a speaker for the YouLearnTwit Face event and on the interview I discovered he was Mexican, Go figure! Then we met in Dubai and we had a great time. He also became best speaker on that event and we decided to partner on the Linkedin Power Launch and throughout the summer we had a lot of interaction. Then we saw again in Dubai and created a great bond and friendship. Rick is a super genuine guy and I feel very happy to have him as a business partner.

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 10 Gautam Ganglani Gautam is the best business partner I could ask for. It is amazing how synergistic our relationship is and how great we are working together. Gautam has become a very important person in my life and I am very happy of having him as a close friend and as a business Partner.

My Favorite People of 2010 # 9 Mariette Cigaar Mariette was actually my neighbor in Amsterdam. A couple of years ago over a casual conversation I discovered that she was a voice over artist and now we’re working on a project together. Mariette  has been amazingly supportive in 2010 and she’s become a close friend who I cherish and enjoy. She has also been very helpful this year taking care of our appartment in Amsterdam while we are not there. Mariette you’re a really cool person!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 8 Dave Crane My dear friend Dave is a guy I love spending time with. Working with and brainstorming with. It is amazing how well we get along and how much we have in common. Throughout these 3 to 4 years Dave has really become a very close friend and I really value his friendship! Dave, you rock buddy!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 7 Mary Lyka Rosit What Can I say About Lyka??? Where to start??? I call he my star. She’s not only my right hand but also the best webmaster ever. She’s been working with me for almost 4 years and I am so proud and happy to have her in my team. Lyka you’re amazing. Thanks for your constant support and always being there for me!

My Favorite People of 2010 # 6 My Brother Alex and my sister Delta. What can I say… I love these guys The more I grow older the more I realize how important family is. I value how much my sister takes care of my parents and how my brother The Doctor supports us all too. Jano and Neff I love you both

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 5 My Uncle Rodolfo Aldapa. My Uncle Rodolfo and I share a special Bond together. Besides my immediate family he’s the family member I feel the closest to and I really value how much he cares for me. Tio Eres a Toda Madre

My Favorite People of 2010 # 3 My Mom and Dad. I do not think I would be any closer to where I am if it would not be because of my mom and dad. They have been the biggest source of love support and encouragement throughout my life and I love them dearly. Los quiero mucho Winacho y La Piguas siempre estan en mi corazon y en mis pensamientos!

My Favorite Person of 2010 # 1 My Daughter Nina. Now, this I knew it was going to be a bit of a difficult position for me to decide… But YES I have to admit that this little princess in 2010 has wrapped me around her little finger so well that I melt just by looking at her. Its hard to explain… I love of course my wife and son equally as much but I never experienced the love a daddy can feel for a daughter WOW! Nina I am so happy you are my princess and you literally made 2010 extra special with your funny and loving ways. I love you very very much

Recently my good friend James Schramko asked on Facebook who in our eyes was the BEST E-Mail Marketer and of course the usual suspects came as candidates. My answer was immediate: Perry Marshall. He delivers value like no other marketer I know. Even his sales emails are incredibly engaging and there is always stuff to learn.

Today I got this Manifesto from him and loved it and I wanted to share it with you

FOR | AGAINST

We are FOR individualism, accomplishment and excellence.

We are AGAINST the mediocrity, self pity, condemnation and discouragement of the news media and of “normal” people sleepwalking through life.

We are FOR alchemy. We believe that there is everywhere lead waiting to be transformed into gold. Opportunity hides literally under every rock and shade tree.

We are AGAINST scarcity that says that everything you receive was forcibly taken from somebody else. Entrepreneurship is about making new pies, not dividing up old ones.

We are FOR you, regardless of mistakes you’ve made. Whatever stupidity spasms you’ve had in the past don’t matter. If you owe $100,000 and you’re scraping change out of your car seats for lunch today… if every time you pick up the kids at your ex’s apartment you’re accused of being a devil… we are still FOR you.

We are AGAINST complainers, fault-finders and critics. It’s easy to criticize. It’s hard to take action. But in the end, only action-takers make history.

We are FOR marching into every battle prepared and engaged and equipped to fight.

We are AGAINST all who would send soldiers into battle armed with plastic swords and helmets.

We are FOR those who take responsibility to arm themselves and invest in quality weapons and tools needed for battle.

We are AGAINST those who think that it is someone else’s responsibility to prepare them for business or life or give them a “free” education.

We are FOR the wise use of technology. We are for every tool that makes you more productive and more effective and able to serve others.

We are AGAINST using technology to abuse people, spam them, or dehumanize them. We use technology to express individuality, not erase it.

We are FOR gratitude and celebration under every circumstance. No matter how many times you fail, the sunrise still comes tomorrow morning. The autumn leaves still radiate brilliance in the fall, and lovely flowers grow in the spring. No matter what befalls you, the world is still a beautiful place.

We are AGAINST the crippling belief that the past dictates the future. We know that if you can look up, you can get up.

We are FOR gifts and giftedness. We are for expertise and specialization. We acknowledge that each of us wields precious talents. We sharpen our skills. We discover ways to delegate the rest to those who have different gifts than us.

We are AGAINST the belief that any one person has to do everything or be everything.

We are FOR human ingenuity because it’s the mother of all natural resources.

We are AGAINST the false belief that finite physical resources mean finite possibilities.

We are FOR the hand of Providence. We are humble enough to request help when we need it.

We are AGAINST the self-deception and pride that says we’re smart enough to figure it all out by ourselves.

We are FOR innovations, developments and paradigm shifts. We transport the future into the present.

We are AGAINST “business as usual” passivity and lazy “wait and see” attitudes. We are proactive.

We are FOR timeless principles and age-old wisdom. We study the ancient masters and respect those who have come before us.

We are AGAINST those who destroy the old simply because it is old. We judge ideas by their value and permanence, not by their age.

We are FOR making every minute count.

We are AGAINST time-vampires, time wasters and time killers.

We are FOR entrepreneurs and all who move resources from areas of low value to areas of high value.

We are AGAINST those who de-value business and burden us with excessive responsibilities, taxes and restrictions.

We are FOR communities, networks and relationships. We recognize that for every problem that needs to be solved, there is someone we can turn to who has already solved it.

We are AGAINST loneliness, isolation and discouragement. We know that the #1 cause of failure is lack of accountability, community and wise counsel.  We know there is no such thing as a self-made man. Everyone has a father and a mother and everyone comes from a tribe.

We are FOR the daily discovery and unfolding of our personal destiny.

We are AGAINST the limitations imposed by other peoples’ judgments and prejudice.

We are FOR your unique performance, reputation and achievement.

We are AGAINST everyone who says you should apologize for your success.

We are FOR the Golden Rule. The highest level of conducting business is loving your customers.

We are AGAINST those who sell things to strangers that they would never sell to their friends.

We are FOR recreation, creativity and refreshment. We believe that friendships, rest and fun fuel our life force and nourish our creative engines.

We are AGAINST slavish devotion to anything, including our work. We do not live to work. We work to live.
